New Work: "Triumvirate" Album Cover for Billy Childs

Album cover and press photography for jazz pianist Billy Childs' 2026 record "Triumvirate" on Mack Avenue Records. The session had me trekking up and down the legendary Silver Lake Staircases across a full day — morning light on the piano key steps, midday in the bougainvillea, and a golden hour finish overlooking the reservoir with those iconic cypress trees that ended up on the cover. Billy is a genuinely easy subject to work with, and the neighborhood did a lot of the heavy lifting. The finished album cover uses the dusk cypress profile from the final hour of the shoot.
